Design
Image Quality
Q:
What are the exact image upload specifications?
A:
All customer uploaded images need to be black and white only. .JPG, .GIF, .BMP and .PNG are all acceptable formats that can be uploaded directly to the site. The images need to be clear, at least 300 dpi resolution and line widths need to be at least 0.01 or 6 pixels. Images also need to be flattened with either a white or black background (transparent backgrounds are not recommended).
Q:
Do I need to invert my image?
A:
No, you do not need to invert the image. Simply upload the image exactly how you would like it to appear once stamped. For example, if you want the text to be black, make the text black and the background white.
Q:
Do I need to reverse my image?
A:
No, you do not need to reverse your image. We will reverse the image on our end. All you need to do is upload the image exactly how you would like it to look once it has been stamped.
Q:
How will I know if my artwork will work on a stamp?
A:
The best artwork to upload for a stamp is a completely black and white image. All images must be converted to black and white before engraving (our laser engraver removes white areas leaving black untouched and cannot process gray or color images). A monochrome image works best. While a grayscale or color graphic can be uploaded, it may not turn out as intended once we automatically convert it to pure black and white.
Signature Stamps
Q:
How do I order a signature stamp?
A:
To order a signature stamp, the signature must be a photographic image. This is usually done using a scanner and making a digital copy of a piece of paper which a person has signed. When setting up the scanning software, set it to black & white (bitmap), 300 dpi or higher, and export the result as a .GIF, .JPG, or .BMP format. Be sure to crop away the excess “white space” around the signature so there is very little extra background.
